Paint Me Green

Posted by mcm0704 on September 30, 2009 |

Sometimes I’m jealous of other writers’ success. There, I said it. When I hear about another sale, especially for big numbers, there’s a little piece of me inside that just wants to whine like a child who didn’t get a piece of the pie. And I’m sure I’m not the only one to have such […]

More Pictures

Posted by mcm0704 on September 24, 2009 |

Took some shots of the sunrise one day this week. Thought it was interesting that the pictures were all taken about the same time, yet the colors vary significantly. I didn’t change the settings on my camera, so I don’t know why the variance happened. But I thought the pictures were pretty.

Getting the Shot

Posted by mcm0704 on September 23, 2009 |

I remember when I used to do PR work and would go out on a photo shoot with a photographer to get pictures for a brochure or annual report, and I was always amazed at how many shots he would take. I was used to the way most of us take family pictures — one […]

More Humor From Tracy Farr

Posted by mcm0704 on September 21, 2009 |

Just had to share this latest from my friend, Tracy Farr. Maybe I related just a bit too much, especially about the cats….If we could talk to the animals, I’d run! While a lot of very intelligent people are weighing in on health care, socialized medicine and obscenely high insurance rates, cows don’t give it […]

Could We Just Stop and Think?

Posted by mcm0704 on September 18, 2009 |

Today I read a news bit on CNN about a judge in Florida who ruled in favor of two Florida school administrators who faced contempt charges for saying a prayer at a school luncheon. The two Florida school officials, Frank Lay, principal of Pace High School in Pace, Florida, and school athletic director Robert Freeman, […]

“Blowing in the Wind”

Posted by mcm0704 on September 17, 2009 |

I just read on CNN news that one of my all-time favorite singers has died. Mary Travers, of the famed Peter, Paul, and Mary trio died from side effects of treatment from a bone-marrow transplant after battling leukemia. The songs of Peter, Paul and Mary were as influential on the 60s and 70s as those […]

Cat Pornography

Posted by mcm0704 on September 16, 2009 |

Some writers work to the sweet sound of their favorite music. I get to work to the sweet sound of my dogs bathing. They come into my office and decide it is time to take care of those personal hygiene needs, and the constant slurping can drive me nuts. Not to mention the fact that […]

Monday Morning Levity

Posted by mcm0704 on September 14, 2009 |

It’s been a while since I shared something from my friend, Tracy Farr, and this one had me laughing out loud. Maybe it was just me, but chances are you will find it funny, too. The pert-near truth about daughters I have a daughter. Chances are, you have a daughter, too. There’s a special room […]
