Over the years I’ve written a number of screenplays and stage plays. Some of the film scripts were written in collaboration with some talented writers and filmmakers, one of whom is Stephen Marro. We wrote three scripts together, and he hired me as script doctor for his film “Broadway’s Finest.”
Stephen is a New York based director and producer, and I always had a great time spending a few days in Manhattan, working with him. As a side note, he’s the one who taught me the value of starting a story that leaves the reader/audience asking a lot of questions. He made me watch “The Terminator” – a film I had zero interest in – to see how effective that approach is. I’ve never forgotten that important writing lesson.
