Never Forget the Truth

Photo of small white lilies with wordage: Never Forget

Of what happened September 11, 2001.

The tragedy of lives lost in an horrific attack by terrorists.

The courageous people who risked their lives to save others., which, sorry Donny, didn’t include you no matter how hard you try to convince us of your perceived heroics.

You simply must stop spreading the fantasy that you were somehow part of the heroics of first responders that fateful day. Stop telling the lie about being in your building, One Liberty Plaza, and firefighters carrying you out because you were determined to stay for some unnamed reason, despite concerns about possible collapse of the building.

CNN reporter, Daniel Dale said this on Twitter about your false claims, Donny:  “…there’s not currently any public evidence Trump went into it amid these collapse worries, much less that he was rushed out by firefighters.”

Dale also wrote, “In varying language, he has repeatedly claimed for years he was at Ground Zero with a large crew of his workers helping with the recovery in the days after 9/11, but people who were definitely on site have said they never saw him or a Trump-organized crew on site and that it wouldn’t make sense for them to have had access; there are pictures and videos of Trump in the neighborhood in the following days, in a clean suit, but not on the actual site.”

Dear Donny, it’s shameful how you, and others, co-opt this horror in sorry attempts to put yourselves in the limelight.

Take a step back and let the light shine on those who deserve the attention and the accolades.

And my fellow Americans, can you take a step away from the screaming headlines to consider that maybe it’s way past time to stop blaming all Muslims for the act of those extremists who decided that the attack on the World Trade Center was the thing to do to further their cause?

It’s been 25 years and still some people hold hatred of every Muslim so deep in their hearts.

As evidenced so convincingly in cries in social media and news headlines for New York City Mayor Zorah Mamdani to be barred from attending the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero. This is just another example of the kind of racism that has controlled thinking for centuries. Mamdani is being blamed, and verbally attacked, not because he supported the Islamic jihadist extremists who scream, “death to Americans” and fly planes into building. He was only a little boy when that happened, and he certainly doesn’t support or condone acts of violence and/or terrorism.

Just look at his life and what he has done for the people of New York City.

Too many people are too quick to judge him simply because of his heritage and his faith.

Sound familiar?

Jews blamed for killing Christ.

All Roman Catholics blamed for the Crusades, the Inquisition, and forced Indigenous residential schooling.

All Palestinians suffering because of the October, 2023 attacks on Israel.

And on and on and on throughout history.

Can we even consider writing a new history?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That’s all from me for today folks. However you will be marking this day, I hope it is with respect for all people. I plan to drink a toast to the courageous people aboard United Airlines Flight 93 who subdued the hijackers and crashed the plane that had been headed to the the U.S. Capitol or the White House into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Then I’ll raise a second glass in honor of all those people who worked so hard that day, searching for survivors, then in the days, weeks, and months following to rebuild a part of the city that was forever changed.
I will also bow my head and say a prayer for the people who lost loved ones and friends, and co-workers in the attacks.
