Jones Award for Best Book of Fiction, the Gulf Coast Prize in Fiction, and multiple International Latino Book Awards. This is my first introduction to his work. Listening to Valley of Shadows right now, well, not right this second LOL, but got the audio from my library. Good story with great writing.
