For all of my Christian friends and readers, I want to wish you all a Merry and Blessed Day today. For those celebrating other winter solstice holidays, I wish you peace and blessings, too.
I don’t think one holiday takes away from any other, as the magic of the season transcends any religious bounds.
I hope this is a day filled with joy, good times, good food, and good company. I’ll be celebrating with some of my kids. It’s been a while since we’ve all been together at the same time, but I have wonderful memories from Christmases past.
All the excitement from young kids anticipating the arrival of the big man in the red suit.
The fun of giving and receiving presents.
The squeals of delight from the kid who got just what she wanted.
Listening to, and singing, Holiday songs.
Sharing meals with family and friends.
Sometimes snow for building a snowman or making snow angels.
And, yes, even the chaos of prepping for the holiday and the clean up afterward.

Be safe.
Be happy.
