This will be a short post today. I’m still in recovery mode from hurting my back a couple of weeks ago, as well as some minor surgery last Wednesday. That means no long sessions at the computer right now.
To start off I have this cute meme for cat lovers everywhere. I had a cat who would wake me each morning with a headbutt. I miss him, but not the rude awakening. 🙂
The decision to write a post today came from reading the following from the Inspiring Quotes site. I get the daily quote from them, and this one resonated with me today.
“The willingness to show up changes us. It makes us a little braver each time.” Brené Brown.
On the Inspiring Quotes site there’s this short commentary about the quote and the author: “In her 2012 book “Daring Greatly,” researcher and best-selling author Brené Brown explores the topics of courage and vulnerability, encouraging readers to acknowledge their fears and turn toward them. With this quote she reminds us that we get better at the things we practice, even when what we’re practicing is courage itself. Every time we take a risk we exercise that muscle, getting a little stronger and a little braver, until the things that once seemed impossible become routine.”
I don’t battle many fears, but as most of you who read my blog know, I do have to fight against the limitations of this nasty trigeminal neuralgia that has tried to wear me down for six years now, and I do feel a little braver each time I don’t give in to the impulse to go sit on the sofa and let the pain win. Not that I’m any better than, or braver than, so many people who fight debilitating and sometimes terminal illnesses. I’m just with them in spirit. So here’s a toast to all of us.
That’s all for today, folks. I hope your weekend is filled with lots of fun, but be safe from the virus that still hovers ready to strike again.
Dear Maryann Think of you often and am sad that you are still being tortured with that vicious nerve disease. Keeping you in our prayers and hope you do get some relief soon. Liked your kitty humor. We have adopted 2 kittens that are growing very fast. One was dropped by our house and the other was from a dear friend who took in a mamma cat who had 8 kittens. We have one of the 8 . They are so much pleasure and we are really enjoying them. Take care of yourself and hope we will see you before too long. Much love, Margit
Thanks, Margit. You are in my prayers, too.
Did you get one of the kittens from Donna Page? I got to meet the kitty that Al and Georgia adopted from the litter Donna found on her property. Cute little kitten that is ruling the roost at their house. LOL
