“An Archer Family Christmas” by Karen Witemeyer

About this book:

“It’s Christmas Eve, 1893, and the entire family has gathered to celebrate the holiday. This day is always bittersweet for Jim and Cassie, who lost a child on Christmas Eve three years earlier. When an unexpected knock at the schoolhouse door reveals a desperate pregnant woman on the run from a dangerous outlaw, it’ll take a Christmas miracle—and the entire Archer clan—to make sure no danger befalls the child born on this beloved holiday.”

A Texas Christmas Carol – Here’s the thing about retellings of classic stories: You know the result, you know the general understand of what will happen at the end. But it’s the journey of getting there with those characters and seeing an author make the story their own that keeps retellings popular and much loved. And with this novella, it was so much fun to see it play out. Especially with all the faith content in this short story. The faith content was just excellent and Felicity was fantastic. I love her heart and her character! The faith content is really what made this novella stand out, though, and was really well done. I loved how the author connected details from the classic tale into this novella. Elsewise, I was already giggly just at the opening few chapters because of the plot and Felicity and the faith discussions made it even better. I really enjoyed this one. 4.5 stars

An Archer Family Christmas – Well that little novella tugged at my heart strings and made me tear up much more than I was expecting! While I might not have been a fan of the first Archer Brothers book due to sexual suggestions/marital content, it was really nice to see the family again. I love how this family has each other’s backs and just the importance of family within this novella was really sweet and wonderful to read. Because of all the married couples there were some hints to intimacies and quite a bit of kissing, so I would say this novella would be better for older college-age/high school girls.

Gift of the Heart – Okay, that was a really sweet novella! It did feel a bit rushed, but I still really enjoyed it. This author knows how to write loveable children and I just love that! I actually laughed out loud at quite a few times during this little story. The best way I can describe this novella would be sweet because it really was!

Overall, this was a very fun and enjoyable novella collection! I thought the add-ins of a devotional, Victorian Christmas traditions, and the recipes between each story were neat bonus content as well.

Delightful trio of stories with great bonuses: a Baby Jesus devotional, a nice summary of traditions and two sweet recipes.
A TEXAS CHRISTMAS CAROL
Clever Texas Twist on an old favorite. Great play on names. Evan has a heart that has turned hard and cynical but Felicity is determined to thaw it. Watch as a beautiful transformation takes place, and for the true meaning of Christmas to shine through.
AN ARCHER FAMILY CHRISTMAS
A family Christmas gathering turns into a fight for the life of a newborn and hope for Cass and Jim Archer. The author once again brings faith and family together and shows the Archer clan can pose a formidable united front.
GIFT OF THE HEART
Reminiscent of the story of Ruth and Boaz. Widow Ruth with her small daughter, Naomi, starts a new life in a resort town as a cook. The only thing of value she has is an heirloom brooch that she uses for collateral. Resort owner Bo keeps it for her in exchange for rent on a cottage . Ms. Witemeyer spins a beautiful Christmas time story of new beginnings with wit and romance.

A Texas Christmas Carol - A clever and completely charming Texas take on the Dickens' classic. An utterly delightful read with engaging characters with names that are fun twists on their inspirations.

Eben is a smart businessman, with really great ideas. He is a clever man, but likes to keep people at a distance with his gruff exterior. I loved how Felicity challenges Eben, and draw him out.

Such a wonderful twist on a traditional story, with strong faith that points to the true meaning of Christmas.

An Archer Family Christmas - The holidays are hard for Cassie and Jim Archer, but when a stranger shows up in need it just might be the answer to prayers.

A heartwarming story of faith and family that finds all the of the Archers together for Christmas. I loved seeing all the couples together for Christmas, as well as getting to know the people at the neighboring boarding school better as well like Myra and her family. An exciting, action-packed read, with strong themes of faith and family.

Gift of the Heart - A widow puts up a treasured broach for collateral on a loan from a wealthy land-owner to help her and her daughter make it through their first Christmas in a new home.

Ruth is a hardworking mother, and the last thing that she wants to do is ask for help, she is a great mother to her young daughter. Naomi is so cute, and I loved how outgoing and friendly she is. Bo is impressed by Ruth's work ethic and charmed by Naomi's honest innocence and accepting nature.

A heartwarming romance, with an adorable little girl, I enjoyed the characters and the Texas setting of this re-telling of the Biblical story. A highly enjoyable read.

Overall, an excellent collection of Christmastime novellas from one of my favorite authors, with familiar faces and familiar timeless tales told in a fresh way. An excellent gift for Christmas or anytime, I read the whole book in one sitting, and you won't want to miss it!

A wonderful Christmas novella collection from Karen Witemeyer! Under the Texas Mistletoe will have readers feeling in the Christmas spirit no matter the time of year. I enjoyed all of these stories, although An Archer Family Christmas will always hold an extra special place in my heart. My True Love Gave to Me (a bonus short story included in the ChristianBook copy) is very clever and cute, and I loved Witemeyer’s creative take on Dickens’ classic in A Texas Christmas Carol. I highly recommend spending Christmas in Texas with this fun collection! 4.5/5 stars

Another lovely collection from one of my favorite authors! The new novella is inspired by A Christmas Carol, and I chuckled at the fun way she incorporated details referencing Dickens. Felicity is adorably earnest in her determination to bring cheer and joy to Evan Beazer, the wealthy town grump. They have a bit of past history that gives them a foundation to build on with their unlikely friendship, and it demonstrated how idealistic Felicity can be. Evan is also a character full of determination, but his stems from his life goal of rising above the poverty of his youth. Along the way he lost trust in others and in God, which Felicity is the perfect person to help restore. I loved their interactions and chemistry! Various townspeople and family members give this story even more personality and heart, and it was a pleasure to read. I also enjoyed re-reading the two previously published stories, especially revisiting the Archer clan! A wonderful collection for the holiday season!

I have read all of the stories in this book, and they are all excellent! It's hard to say which I loved best, "A Texas Christmas Carol"or "An Archer Family Christmas" best. Both stories are fantastic! "An Archer Family Christmas" adds to the Archer family story line, if you have read other books by Karen Witemeyer, you may be familiar with the characters in this book. It will tug your heartstrings either way, even if you have never read any of her stories. Very emotional heart stirring story! Loved all of the stories in it! Excellent book complete with recipes and historical info you won't want to miss out on!

I am a big fan of this author. Always have been. This little trip of novellas is just so very good. Witemeyer has a definite way with an historical. I love the Archer family and it was great to see their Christmas story in print. The very first story deeply ministered you a situation in my life, almost as if it had been written specifically to me. I love when that happens during the reading of a book. I loved this book and am so happy to have it on my shelves.

My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. The opinion is my own in this review.

Three great stories in one book - you get triple the reading pleasure :)
Each of the three stories spoke to me in different ways, for different reasons. "A Texas Christmas Carol" brought out the lover of classics in me. The ode to Dicken's famous story was subtle but so much fun. The play on the names of the three strangers was too clever, as well as the other nod to the classic characters - Evan Beezer, Timothy Little and Robert. Everyone has a heart down deep, many are just well guarded due to prior hurts. I love Christian fiction because the faith and circumstances of the characters strengthen my own faith. I must say, however, that this is one of the rare works where some of the words in the book spoke to me in the same way that a sermon would. I loved this passage - " ...there's a reason that God calls himself I Am and not I Was or I Will Be. Now is the only place where change happens. Regretting the past or fretty about the future might motivate you, but it doesn't change you. You must seize the moment you are standing in and make a commitment to be better, trusting that the I am is standing with you, lending you his power." Wow!
As an adoptive mom, "An Archer Family Christmas" had all the warm fuzzies that make a great Christmas story. I always love adoption stories because they are such a great reminder of how we are all adopted into His family by our Heavenly Father. I haven't read the other Archer stories yet but will be finding them ASAP to know more of the backstory to this special family.
Finally, "Gift of the Heart" touched me because the main character is a man with a disability who feels that no one will ever love him because he is "damaged." As someone who is married to someone with a disability, it warms my heart to see the message this story gives that no one is too "damaged" to be loved for who they are. Too many times the disabled are token characters or sidekicks in stories, or simply aren't even included. I loved how Witemeyer showed how special this man was despite his limitations.
As a part of Karen's Posse (group for her readers), I love seeing the story that she had gotten our input on come to life - she did a poll for names suggested for Evan Beezer, seeing one of the stories dedicated to our group, and having a mention of our annual ornament exchange included. As a reader and a fan, it really makes it feel like Karen truly values her Posse.

This collection is fantastic! The stories are wonderful, and the added bonuses of a Christmas devotional, recipes, and a bit of history on some cherished Christmas traditions sprinkled between the novella stories make this a can't miss book for anyone who loves Christmas! The first story in the collection is a take on Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" and it's absolutely charming. Evan Beazer is a perfect representation of a Scroogelike character and Felicity is a charming foil to his cranky miserly self. A truly fun story about someone learning what is truly important during the Christmas season. In "An Archer Family Christmas" we get a new visit with the beloved Archer family. It's a fast paced and exciting Christmas Eve story with a couple of sad bits but a happy ending. I loved getting to see the Archers again! The last story is actually one that released previously in the novella collection "The Christmas Heirloom" with three other authors. It has an adorable little girl and a spunky cat which makes for a fun sweet story, which is basically the type of stories Karen is known for writing. It is a great story and full of Christmas spirit. This is a set I will read over and over, there is no doubt. A completely charming set of stories guaranteed to put you in the Christmas spirit, no matter what time of year!

I did receive a copy from the author for review, however, I also purchased the audio copy of this book as well as an additional paper copy to get a special edition with a bonus story not found in the regular edition. All thoughts are my own.

I just love this book. It's like it's own little Christmas gift, like stocking stuffers packed together in one bundle of words. So wonderful!

"A Texas Christmas Carol" was super clever! I truly enjoyed Felicity and Evan's interactions. I love the grumpy meets sunshine situation, and I especially love it with Witemeyer's trademark humor thrown in.

"An Archer Family Christmas" made me so happy! It was like being among friends again, with the whole Archer clan represented. But in true Archer fashion, danger and drama aren't far behind the beloved family. This novella was hard on the heart, but was such a demonstration of God's kindness even when life doesn't work out the way we want it to.

"Gift of the Heart" was my favorite of the three, though I loved them all. But this one . . . *happy sigh*. It's just all of the right things. Ruth and Bo and Naomi and a cat wrongly named Miss Creant . . . *happy sigh again*. I love Ruth's story in the Bible, and this was a beautifully reimagined story.

Sprinkled in with these lovely novellas are recipes, a short devotional from Witemeyer, and a brief history lesson on some of our Christmas traditions. This book is just Christmas in a bundle and any fan of historical Christian fiction should have this book for their collection!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher. All expressed opinions belong to me.

Ok, so I'm going to review the Under the Texas Mistletoe novellas one by one starting with the first one A Texas Christmas Carol. If you want a Christmas retelling that will have your heart grow by two sizes, this is the story to read! It was so fun to see the author take the characters from A Christmas Carol and turn them into Texans. And then names she created for them were really fun like Evan Beazer. lol His closed off heart was put in place to protect himself, but when Felicity makes an appearance in his life and is relentless in softening his heart, he doesn't stand a chance at staying so frigid. I adored how the author used Felicity's gentle and positive spirit to lead him to Christ! You will also love the trio of misfits who show up out of nowhere and keep giving Evan advice. They crack me up!

And if you're an Archer loving fanatic, you DO NOT want to miss out on An Archer Family Christmas. I loved revisiting one of my all-time favorite families! This story was a bit heavier than the first one because it focuses on how hard Christmas Eve is for Jim and Cassandra. With the entire Archer clan getting together there was a lot of excitement and an activity that brought Cassandra face to face with trouble. Through the author's writing it's so easy to feel how close the Archer clan is. I loved that Moses, Myra, and Josiah make an appearance. They're some of my favorite side characters. I wasn't sure what the twist was going to be in this story, but it sure was a surprise! My heart was so full at the end of the story!

I'll be honest with you here, I struggle with romantic novellas because often times the storyline is rushed and it just doesn't feel "true". BUT Gift of the Heart gave me ALLLL of the feels and warmed me all the way to my toes. I love characters who have something they see as an obstacle in their lives, but the author uses the other main character to show them that it's not quite as bad as it seems. I know Bo is supposed to be a rather "hard" character, but I kind of liked him from the start. lol As for Ruth and Naomi they give the reader a huge desire to protect them and make sure things go well for them. And yes, if those names sound familiar, head to the book of Ruth in the Bible! You will have heart eyes even more when you read this novella! I have to admit, I got goosebumps at one point in the story!

The Extras in the story are a devotional at the end of the first novella and an explanation of early 19th century and a couple of recipes!

*I received this book for review. This is my personal opinion.

This was a lovely collection of historical Christmas novellas, with a short devotional, a couple of Christmas recipes and some historical information woven in. All 4 of the stories (I had the version with the bonus tale) had me chuckling out loud in parts and wiping my eyes in other parts. They all had sweet romance elements, solid faith elements and the meaning of Christmas included. I love this author's knack for using humor, including how she names her characters even, while not losing the message at all. This was a great collection to read this season and I'd highly recommend!

A Texas Christmas Carol by Karen Witemeyer
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review To Come!

Archer Family Christmas by Karen Witemeyer

Gift of the Heart by Karen Witemeyer
⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
I always enjoy Karen Witemeyer stories, and this was no exception! I loved the main couple, and I felt like it was a really fresh kind of romance that you don't see enough in Christian fiction. The love came a little more gradually, and I really liked that it wasn't the sort of instant love you usually see. I really enjoyed Naomi, and I liked Bo. It was amazing to have a hero who was physically impaired. All of the characters were well-written, and it was such a clean, cute little novella. My only complaint is that it was a novella. Too short for my taste, especially when I really enjoy the characters like I did in this one. All in all, however, Karen Witemeyer's stories are amazing as always.

A wonderful celebration of stories! All three of the holiday novellas in this book were the perfect addition to sipping on a cup of hot cider in my coziest chair beside the Christmas tree! I enjoyed author Karen Witemeyer’s unique variety of tales—one filled with humor, while another featured a little suspense, and the third a touching story about acceptance; and each carrying love and a beautiful message of faith that will inspire and remain long after the holiday season!

Three historical romance novellas all focused on different Archer brothers filled with Christmas fun and romance. I especially liked the first one "A Texas Christmas Carol" which was a cute spinoff of the original "Dicken's Christmas Carol." All 3 were enjoyable Christmas novellas.

I haven't read much by Karen Witemeyer before this, besides one novel and a novella in a collection of Christmas stories by multiple authors, but every time, I've liked her writing style. This story collection was no different. Each story featured such unique characters and situations, and such a wide range of emotions.

The first story, "A Texas Christmas Carol" was largely just very sweet. Our Scrooge-like character was actually pretty likeable even in his grumpiness, and I enjoyed his interactions with the different people (living people, not ghosts) he encountered who taught him lessons about being a better person. By the end, I really felt his change was genuine and very sweet. I did feel like he and the heroine fell in love a little fast... I was okay with it at first, because when he told her he loved her he was talking about working to earn her love over time by becoming friends and then courting, etc. But then she said she loved him already and would marry him tomorrow if he asked. I just thought that was a little hasty of her, especially after he was being so wise about it and willing to be patient, but it also didn't ruin the story for me because I know some people are very sure of themselves and their relationships and really do fall in love quickly and have lasting marriages, even if it's not how I would do things myself. *shrug*

Story number 2 was super duper charming, and exciting at the same time. It apparently is a spin-off from Witemeyer's "Archer Brother's" series, but despite not having read that, I was still able to enjoy this story fully. It was clear that all these characters had history with each other, but she wrote it in such a way that I was able to quickly grasp the relationships even without knowing all the details of how they got to this place in their lives. One of my favorite things was the depth of the characters and their relationships, and I absolutely adored the family dynamic. This family would all take a bullet for each other and I just loved how they supported each other and were also willing to come to the defense of a pregnant mother running from her wicked outlaw husband (who was a massive jerk and I'm glad he got what he deserved in the end). The main couple especially were precious and I love them to bits. I may be seeking out the Archer Brother's series now, because I want to spend more time with these characters and get to know them better.

Story 3 was giving me intense deja vu until I realized that I had already read it in the Christmas Novella collection I read this time last year, called "The Christmas Heirloom: Four Holiday Novellas of Love Through the Generations." That one included four stories by four different authors with Witemeyer's story "Gift of the Heart" being the second story in the collection. I was honestly a little surprised to find it repeated in this collection, but I guess Bethany House wanted three novellas for this collections and decided it stood alone well enough that they wanted to republish it 3 years after it was featured in the Heirloom collection. It's a sweet story that riffs on the Biblical story of Ruth in a western setting (The main character is Naomi, she has a young daughter named Ruth, and the hero goes by the name "Bo.") It borrows some flavor from the story of Ruth rather than retelling it (and it's Naomi and Bo who get together in the end... The daughter, Ruth is under 10 years old here and she and Bo just have a cute friendship.) and is very pleasant to read.

What the book synopsis doesn't tell you is that there's actually a 4th story at the very end of this book. It's a short story instead of a novella, and features a man winning his lady's (and her family's) affections by giving her the gifts from the "12 Days of Christmas" song, only in Western style. (A cartridge in a prickly pear tree instead of a partridge in a pear tree... Two white gloves with turtles embroidered on them, a.k.a. "two turtle gloves" instead of "two turtle doves. That kind of thing.) IT WAS STINKING ADORABLE. How her father didn't think he was a suitable match, I do not know, but I'm glad our hero convinced him otherwise and the father let them marry in the end because they were perfect together.

And between the stories, we also got a short Christmas devotional by Witemeyer and 2 Christmas cookie recipes.

So overall, this was a really fun little collection. Most Christmas novella collections have stories where I like some better than others, but I actually really enjoyed all of these, and the additions of the devotional and cookie recipes was just the cherry on top of a sweet and well-crafted cake. 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

Christmas stories are always fun to read. And theyre especially nice when it’s an airport you enjoy! This three novels collection is excellent. It begins with a brand new story! Based off A Christmas Carol, a Scrooge like character is challenged by a sweet member of the community to give his time, not money. Quite a clever move! The second is a continuation of the Archer family. We visit them at Christmas and they’ve expanded their family with kids. Unexpected things happen and it may not be a Merry Christmas, read to find out! The third is a previously published novella and a great story. A widow is seeking a place for her and her daughter to live and has to give her family’s heirloom brooch as payment. An inspirational style for sure! I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All views stated are my own.

A Texas Christmas Carol

I really enjoyed this novella. Felicity's warm, loving personality was the perfect fit to bring out the human heart in the not approachable Evan. It was fun to see how through Felicity's prodding and help, Evan began to see beyond just the bottom line.

Karen Witemeyer has a way with her books that are so heartwarming, filled with humor and romance.
Three beautiful novellas filled with sweet Christmas beauty, charm and spirit. So heart touching, filled with kind, soothing words and they brought the spirit of Christmas to mind.

The share delight of the stories, the characters and the amazing transformation throughout the novellas was second to none.

It feels like Karen knows the heart of her readers and gives us exactly what our heart needs.

The lessons of faith to be gleaned in the three novellas are so inspiring and life changing. They bring to mind our response to the birth of Christ.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet love stories with beautifully described countryside, and themes that brings to mind the beautiful season and puts one in the mood for Christmas you won’t want to miss Under The Texan Mistletoe by Karen Witemeyer.

Best novella I’ve ever read. One of my favorite Christmas books I’ve ever read as well.

I’m my opinion, it’s incredibly difficult to find novellas/short stories, that have enough depth to be interesting. Most tend to be rushed insta love stories that can seem unrealistic, superficial and silly. This author has not only created characters with depth, but stories with depth that are not rushed, and yet are rich with realistic romance that make the reader feel like you’re there watching the story unfold in front of you. And not only has she done this in one of the stories, she’s done it with all three stories. This book and these storylines are well done. 👌🏽 The quality of each story in this book has left me impressed with this author. I will be reading more from her in the future! If you haven’t read this one yet, go add it to your Christmas TBR!

I truly adored this trio of Christmas novellas. Each story has the perfect mixture of romantic holiday charm and page-turning adventure. This is the perfect collection to bring out your Christmas spirit. I can't wait to reread it in a few months with snow outside, a warm fire nearby, and a mug of hot cocoa in hand!

A Texas Christmas Carol
This is definitely the most enjoyable Christmas Carol adaption I've ever read. Generally, classic retellings are not my cup of tea, but I really loved Evan and Felicity's love story! Their opposite personalities played out like a Hallmark movie as they grew closer together. I really admired Felicity's determination and Evan's come-to-Jesus moment brought tears to my eyes. They were just so sweet together!

An Archer Family Christmas
Oh my goodness, this story was so adorable! And captivating as well. I was quite literally on the edge of my seat as it unfolded.
If you're like me, and you've been dying for Jim and Cassie's story since Short-Straw Bride, you will be overjoyed to read this beautiful Christmas novella. I was head-over-heels in love with Jim and Cassie before the end of the first chapter. They are just so perfect together. I am so thrilled they got their happily-ever-after.
And the Archers! I just can't get enough of them! They are 100% the most lovable, amazing historical family to grace the wild west. Karen could literally write a novel about their day-to-day life and I would be delighted to read it. I am just so captivated by them. I love them so much!
This novella is such a treasure. I only wish it was longer.

Gift of the Heart
*sigh*
Although this is the second time I've read this novella, it is no less lovely. I wholeheartedly enjoyed this beautiful historical love story, based on the Biblical tale of Ruth and Boaz.
Bo, Ruth, Naomi, and little Teddy once again warmed my heart better than hot tea on a rainy night. As always, Karen Witemeyer's masterful storytelling left me with a big smile on my face. I just can't get enough of her happily-ever-afters!

I never tire of Christmas and I have a list of books and movies that I love to revisit each year during the holiday season. I now have a new book by Karen Witemeyer to add to that list! Under the Texas Mistletoe is a collection of three novellas that are set in Texas during the 1890s, and they carry the Witemeyer trademarks of humor, romance, family, and faith. I found myself smiling and laughing, but there were also moments of tears. Memories of past Christmases with my family are often bittersweet, and these stories of Christmas and family filled me with the same emotions.

Each novella is a joy to read, and I love Witemeyer's mission to share the true meaning of Christmas in each of them. 'A Texas Christmas Carol' has a Texas banker who thinks like Ebenezer Scrooge but is capable of causing heart palpitations; 'An Archer Family Christmas' introduces a tiny baby who promises to bring love and joy to the Archer family; and 'Gift of the Heart' features a widow who must sacrifice a family heirloom so that she can secure shelter for her and her daughter. All three are lovely, heartwarming tales that allude to treasured Bible stories, and there are three added bonuses. Who wouldn't like two Christmas recipes, a look at some American Christmas traditions of the 19th century, or an inspiring devotional about the greatest gift ever given?

Under the Texas Mistletoe is an absolute delight and I recommend it to all who enjoy historical romance and Christmas-themed stories. Reading it will surely put you in the Christmas spirit!

I received a copy of this book from the author and Bethany House Publishers. There was no obligation for a positive review and I am voluntarily sharing my thoughts.

Some of you are groaning about Christmas books already, but I’m one of those people who will read them all year round. Why? Because of the joy, celebration with friends and family, and meaning of the holiday. Plus, when the new Christmas books start to show up on bookstore shelves, it means fall is around the corner and by September, I’m usually anticipating cooler weather and the lead-in to the holiday season.

In Under the Christmas Mistletoe, Karen Witemeyer gives readers three novellas in one collection. For those who have been Witemeyer fans for a while, Gift of the Heart was previously published in The Christmas Heirloom collection and An Archer Family Christmas was a previous e-novella, but this is the first time in print. Also, if you pick up the audiobook or buy the special edition from Christianbook, you get a bonus short story.

Each of these novellas is uplifting and will put you in the Christmas spirit. From the Dickens’ A Christmas Carol inspired to the Ruth and Boaz inspired to one of Witemeyer’s beloved families (who doesn’t love going back and catching up with some of your favorite characters?), these stories are sweet, uplifting, and well-rounded. Nothing felt rushed and each of the novellas (even the short story) left me completely satisfied when I finished them.

Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Loved, loved, loved, this Christmas Historical Romance collection. The perfect read leading to the holidays. Charming and sweet stories you would enjoy immensely, as I did.

First novella is a twist on the famous Dickens story of A Christmas Carol. With names like Evan Beazer for Ebenezer; and the three “ghosts”, friends of Evan, Lester Day for the ghost of Christmas past, Prez Ently for the ghost of Christmas present, and Tom Morrow for the ghost of Christmas future, there’s certainly much to enjoy.

The second novella is An Archer Family Christmas. A delightful story in true Archer brothers style. Loved “seeing” their families, their little ones together for a family Christmas they, and you, will never forget.

And third novella is a beautiful story of a widow and her little girl trying to start their new lives in Hope Springs. Truly the most charming story, Gift of the Heart. Loved from beginning to end.

This book includes some extras that were a fantastic addition. A Christmas devotional. Some well researched facts about American Christmas traditions of the nineteenth century, including the origin of displaying Christmas trees, mailing Christmas cards, the tradition of Santa Claus, and the origin of Christmas carols. Delightful addition for this history buff. And some Christmas recipes, yum. Truly an enjoyable book!
