When world-class figure skater Dmitri Fane goes missing, his partner knows just whom to hire. It's up to Swift Investigations to find the missing Fane, and fast---the Olympics are just weeks away. It should be no trouble for the investigative team of Charlie Swift and Gigi Goldman: Their chief obstacle is Gigi's teenage daughter, Kendall, and her mad crush on Fane. That is, until the skating team's coach is brutally attacked and a colleague of Dmitri is killed, and things start to get complicated.
Gigi's corralling a lovesick Kendall and dying to test out the hilarious techniques from her surveillance class. Charlie's dodging bullets and fending off Detective Connor Montgomery's advances. Their client is suddenly MIA. Can Charlie and Gigi solve two missing-persons cases and a murder at once, or will the culprit get off skate-free?

Review
“Charlie and Gigi are both wonderful characters, flawed but appealing. This well-crafted, zany mystery will appeal, especially, to fans of Janet Evanovich, Laura Levine, and Lisa Lutz, whose work displays the same kind of humor.” ―Booklist
“DiSilverio has a bit of Sue Grafton's tone about her, with a dash of Janet Evanovich thrown in, thanks to Charlie's always unpredictable partner, Gigi. Expect to laugh...with this enjoyable read.” ―Library Journal
“In DiSilverio's amusing second mystery...Allgood and CSPD Det. Connor Montgomery provide romantic frissons for Charlie as she juggles the two complex and dangerous cases with aplomb. Readers will look forward to seeing more of Charlie and her two clueless assistants.” ―Publishers Weekly
“Swift Edge is a light-hearted mystery that is fun and funny, peppered with great characters, and totally un-put-downable.” ―Fresh Fiction
“DiSilverio's sequel to her highly praised debut novel, 'Swift Justice,' is ideal for those who enjoy humorous mysteries. Fans of Janet Evanovich will be easily hooked and impressed; the adventures of the Swift Investigation team are highly entertaining but not quite as goofy.” ―Lansing State Journal

About the author
Laura DiSilverio is the national best-selling author of 21 (and counting) novels, including Close Call (one of the Top 5 mysteries of 2016, according to Library Journal),The Reckoning Stones (2016's Colorado Book Award winner for best mystery), and the Readaholics Book Club series. She spent 20 years as an Air Force intelligence officer before retiring to write and parent full-time. Her teen daughters coaxed her into writing a young adult novel, and the result is the dystopian Incubation Trilogy (because three is better than one, right?). She is a past President of Sisters in Crime and a frequent keynote speaker and teacher at writers conferences and events. She plots murder and parents teens in Colorado, trying to keep the two tasks separate.

Charlie acquires various injuries along the way including a gunshot wound from a stray bullet. Gigi, in the meantime has taken to PI work like a duck takes to water and is hot into the latest technical gadgets - but can be a hazard if you put something like a stun gun in her hand, and fumbles a bit with some of the high tech gadgets. Kendall, Gigi's figure skating teenage daughter, is obsessed with the missing skater (who happens to be gay), and inserts herself into the case.
There are people involved with things outside the law, and some heavies willing to bust people up (and their families) to recover something that they want. Charlie is trying to sort things out, and has mixed feelings about the end results.
I read the first book in this series years ago, and I kept meaning to go back and read this one. I’m so glad I did. This book is as much fun as I remember the first being. The plot is fast paced with plenty of action and a page turning climax. What Gigi doesn’t know about the PI business she makes up for in enthusiasm, and her antics add some great laughs. Yet none of the characters come across as caricatures; there is a depth to all of them. Mostly, we only see glimpses of that depth, but it is enough to make them seem real. The book skirts around the edges of the cozy genre with just a touch more violence and language than a traditional cozy, but as long as you expect that, you’ll be fine. I really did enjoy this book, and it won’t be as long before I go back to visit these characters again.
