Welcome to It’s Not All Gravy
Blogging is not all that different from writing newspaper columns, which is where I got my professional start. I wrote a weekly humor column for a Dallas suburban newspaper for a number of years, then wrote a general personal column for a Dallas publication, The Texas Catholic.
My humor column was titled, It’s Not All Gravy, and I have always been fond of that as it reflects life so aptly. When I started the column way back when, one of my sons questioned the title. “What do you mean? We hardly ever have gravy.”
“Think about it. You’re smart. You’ll get it.”
What I do here is a mix of commentary, some humor thanks primarily to my frequent guest, Slim Randles, and some other odds and ends related to writing or otherwise. I post on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with an occasional book review on Sundays. I enjoy having other authors as my Wednesday’s Guest, and accept ARCs for reviews. You can find out more about submitting for this feature on my guidelines for guests and review guidelines.
I appreciate my readers and always welcome comments, even if you don’t agree with a stand I might take on a social issue. We can still be friends and not always agree.
